The Daruvarske Toplice spa was awarded a Halal certificate earlier this week, becoming the first special hospital for medical rehabilitation in Croatia to be halal certified. Halal certificates have been awarded in Croatia since 2010 by the Islamic Centre's halal certification centre.
The certificate was presented to the spa director Mira Zakora by the centre's head Aldin Dugonjic.
The spa introduced the halal system as part of efforts to boost its competitiveness in the medical tourism market.
