Croatia can expect good results with regard to Chinese tourists and about 28% or 300,000 more arrivals this year compared to 2018, the director of the Croatian National Tourism Board (HTZ) Kristjan Stanicic said on Tuesday after a business workshop held in China.
HTZ together with Slovenia's tourism organisation (STO) held a business workshop Experience Croatia, Feel Slovenia in Beijing that was financed with support from the European Tourism Commission (ETC) and attracted Chinese tour operators and tourist agencies. A second workshop is set for March 28 in Shanghai.
"Good announcements at the workshop in Beijing from our Chinese partners shows that our activities on the Chinese market are bringing results and that we can expect a very successful tourism year from that market and maintain a high growth rate in tourist trade. In addition, we are pleased that luxury travel agencies attended the workshop, which confirms the scope and attractiveness of our programme," Stanicic said in a press release.
According to data presented, more than 300,000 arrivals by Chinese tourists are expected this year or about 28% more than in 2018 as well as 430,000 more bed nights, which will be an increase of 25%. (Hina)
