Croatia has been voted best European destination for conference tourism in 2018 by British magazine Business Destinations, the National Tourist Board (HTZ) said earlier this week. The HTZ won the award for MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions) in Europe, and awards were also presented for best hotels, airports, airlines, facilities and services.
"MICE tourism is an important tourism product because individual and group business travellers make a stable source of demand which, depending on trends, is most prominent in the shoulder seasons," HTZ director-general Kristjan Stanicic said in a statement.
He added that a survey conducted among hotel owners showed that business travellers accounted for 10 to 15 percent of hotel guests. (Hina)
