The Croatian National Tourist Board's (HTZ) New York office will present Croatia's tourism at the Dallas Travel and Adventure Show in Texas on March 30-31, and announcements from the US market indicate that the number of US tourists visiting Croatia might increase by more than 20% this year.
Announcing Croatia's participation in the fair, HTZ director Kristjan Stanicic said on Friday that results on the US market were increasingly good and that arrivals and nights this year so far were up 20% compared with the same time last year.
"A two-digit increase of the tourist turnover from the US to Croatia this year is envisaged also by Virtuoso, the prestigious American association of agencies specialising in luxury travel all over the world. We expect the upcoming opening of an HTZ office in Los Angeles, with 20 candidates applying for the position of the office's director, to contribute to the positive trends in the US," said Stanicic.
The director of the HTZ's New York office, Ina Rodin, said Croatia was presented to Virtuoso agents at workshops in Los Angeles and New Orleans and that they all more or less showed interest in bringing tourists to Croatia. Interest exists in Texas too, she added. (Hina)
