The government on Thursday endorsed a final bill of amendments to the hospitality industry law which regulates the models and terms under which legal and physical persons can operate hotels, bars and restaurants, and whose goal is to bolster tourism development and competitiveness. Tourism Minister Gari Cappelli said no additional funds would be required for implementing the amendments.
Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic said he was pleased with the increase in tourism revenue in the first half of the year, adding that it indicated the target of about EUR 12 billion would be reached this year.
He said more would be said about this year's tourism results at a government session on the island of Hvar in three weeks' time on the occasion of Croatian Tourism Days.
