Croatia's commercial accommodation facilities reported 308,000 tourists in November 2017, up 9.1% on the year, and they generated 663,000 nights, a rise of 9%, the national statistical office said on Monday. Foreign tourists accounted for 195,000 arrivals, up 11.2% from November 2016, generating 437,600 nights, up 11.7%. Domestic tourists generated 112,000 arrivals, up 5.5%, and 225,000 nights, up 4.2%.
Zagreb recorded the biggest number of tourists last November, 81,000 arrivals and 149,000 nights, up 26% and 22% respectively on the year. The most numerous were Austrians (12%), Slovenians (11%), Germans (10%) and Italians (8%).
Hotels recorded the biggest number of nights in November 2017, 433,000, up 9% on the year.
In the first 11 months of 2017, commercial accommodation facilities registered 17.1 million arrivals and 85.6 million nights, up 13% and 11% respectively on the year. Domestic tourists accounted for 1.7 million arrivals and 5.8 million nights, up 5% and 3% respectively on the year, while foreign tourists generated 15.4 million arrivals, up 14%, and 79.8 million nights, up 11%.
