India wants to attract more foreign tourists, including those from Croatia

India, one of the world's largest countries with a population of 1.5 billion and exceptionally rich culture, history, gastronomy, a developed economy and tourism industry, wants to attract more than the current 11 million foreign tourists, including tourists from Croatia.

This was said at the presentation of India's tourism services in Zagreb earlier this week. The event, organised by the Indian Embassy, brought together some 60 representatives of Croatian travel agencies, hotel owners and other existing and potential partners of India's tourist sector.

The presentation was held by the assistant director of India's Tourism Organisation in Frankfurt, Jitender Jadhav.

Indian Ambassador to Croatia Sandeep Kumar said that India was doing everything in its power to facilitate the arrival of foreign tourists to that country which sometimes, as he said, was not easy because of the visa regime.

Visas are a problem, but we are doing everything we can to resolve this issue, so now Croatian tourists are waiting two days for a visa, which is a day less than before, the ambassador said, calling on all those interested in cooperation with Indian  partners and citizens interested in travelling to India to contact the embassy directly.
